The Directorate-General for Infrastructure, Transport and the Sea (DGITM) is responsible for preparing and implementing the national policy on land and maritime transport. The DGITM falls within a policy of sustainable development and energy transition, promoting environmentally friendly transport modes and usage within its areas of competence. This document presents a summary of the organisation of the directorate-general. It describes its responsibilities, its major project areas and agents, which are responsible within the management structure for a range of issues including public transport, railway and guided light transit, inland waterway, road and maritime transport.
