UL10 - a more direct option from London Gatwick to Italy, Greece & Turkey

UL10 is a H24 conditional category-2 route (CDR2) and may be planned according to the conditions published each day for airmen, available on NOP Eurocontrol portal under “European AUP/UUP”
Yearly average estimated benefits for 1 flight flying UL10, when available for planning :
|3.6 tons a year||11.5 tons a year||107 minutes a year|
PS : results naturally vary according to aircraft types & destinations : the closest to the final destination will benefit the more.
When UL15 (LESDO-BEGAR) is available for planning, significant additional benefits can be made as a 15NM shortcut is thus provided.
Best planning option :
During weekends : UL10 + LESDO-BEGAR (UL15), available for airlines able to plan FL350 and above.
Offering new route options to airlines within FABEC airspace
With the implementation of this new route, DSNA contributes to pave the way for the user preferred route. This particular achievement emphasizes DSNA’s utmost objectives and ongoing challenge for :
- making more routes available from major airports inside and outside FABEC’s airspace
- maintaining the highest safety and capacity levels combined with a positive environmental impact
- intensifying the necessary collaboration with neighbouring ANSP (e.g NATS for this particular example)
On the ATC side
To ensure an optimal service to all airlines, Reims ATC has followed a step by step approach to implement UL10. A second assessment of winter operations will give factual elements to further develop the route offer for the addressed traffic flow. Besides, this method has permitted the achievement of a new route option that can be filed and flown without creating any particular disruption for the network.
